Being A Couch Potato (or not)

I am a certified couch potato. I may not have paid attention to this blog and everything is intermittent but I would definitely like to start anew and provide you with things related to the couch and a few in between.

Let us define first what for me is a couch potato:

A couch potato is someone who liked to become idle. However, I am not totally idle. My being a couch potato or more aptly bed potato (I love sleeping and doing things you normally do on a couch, I do them on a bed). What do I do at my room most of the time:

1. Read a book
2. Watch TV
3. Watch DVD
4. Work at Home

The last item is not typically an activity by a couch potato but to hell with it. I sometimes work at home for the fun of it (I can see you rolling your eyes, quit it).


So, what can you expect from me and this blog.

1. Book review (most likely a book I read)

How I gauge it? I gauge it based on whether I will continue buying from that author or borrow first before I buy. If there are no other books from that author, I will do my best to tell how it really is.

2. DVD review (DVDs I have and will buy)

A piece of note here: I review if a DVD is worth buying based on the following:

a. Expected features must be there, Deleted Scenes, Gag Reel, Theatrical Trailers and/or TV Spots, at least one how the movie was made documentary

b. Other features - documentaries about the film, interview with the cast, feature layout, etc

c. The movie itself - I hate creating synopsis so expect that it would be few even if I loved the movie. The synopsis, funny moments, great moments, and the likes can be seen on DVD reviews with nothing but the movie on it and very few other features.

The most important aspect on how I feel if a DVD is worth buying would be the Features unless the movie is so exceptional it trumps the Features. After all, it is a DVD. Just buy VHS or VCD if we are after the movie.

3. Since it is after all about me, work, vacations, family bonding, bumming around would be a great part of what I write. Other articles are written depending on interest. Some that interests me are the economic meltdown, Philippine politics, and currently discrimination. There is a new target for discrimination so I will do some research before I lay out my mind. If I do not have time to research, I will speak my mind (shooting and spitting out nonsense most likely)
